Price
& Cost Effectiveness: Jumpline’s
pricing is much higher compared to that of many of their competitors.
For $14.95, you have the opportunity to host up to 5 websites. The features they offer for this simple plan
are similar to packages you can get as cheap as $5, such as MySQL. However,
Jumpline does offer a plan for $14.95, that allows you host up to 6 websites.
This offers the best value if you are hosting serveral sites, which makes
this plan one of the most unique plans in the industry.
Reliability: In
a year of hosting our sites, Jumpline’s web hosting seems quite
reliable considering the fact that its only been down a couple of times
during that time. Thanks to their state-of-the-art data center, their
data center is light years ahead of many of their competitors.
Data Center: Jumpline hosting offers one of the most
reliable backbones around, thanks to its OC-192 connection with Qwest.
The performance of Jumpline is on par with that of many of top web hosting
companies, and their state-of-the-art data center also offers proper cooling
and security for their servers, so you can be ensured that your data will
be in good hands.
Customer Service: Jumpline
has great customer service compared to other web hosting companies. Upon
submitting our trouble tickets to the company, we were able to get a response
within a few hours and they were descent responses. The customer representatives
were able to solve our problem with most of their responses.
Control Panel: Jumpline utilizes the Sphera control panel.
The control panel has the best visual appearance compared to the others
we’ve used, however, when comparing features, Hsphere still tops
the list. In addition, the Sphera control panel might look good, but it
lacks speed. This is one of the slowest control panels that we’ve
seen, even on a cable modem. IBM is one of the big corporations that uses
the Sphera control panel.
Overall:
Jumpline’s features and good control panel were a
plus, but the negatives outweigh the positives by far. Jumpline’s
poor customer service and extremely high prices make Jumpline web hosting
a poor choice and definitely not worth your time.
