General Impression

Startlogic is a premier web hosting company that provides excellent customer support and a bundle of features for cheap. Unlike most web hosting companies which specialize in either UNIX or Windows, Startlogic have plans that fit both needs. Startlogic is unique in a sense that they offer 24 hour live technical support. You can contact a representative any time during the day or night and request assistance over the phone and not just through email. Furthermore, for $7.50 per month, they offer a free domain, 2 GB Space, 60 GB transfer and one of the best web templates program we have seen on the internet today. It doesn’t get any better than this. Since Startlogic is relatively a new company, we decided not to give it our highest rating yet until they establish some reputation on the internet. It is said that Startlogic was founded by a large investor so you can be assured that it is a hosting company that you can depend and rely on for years to come. Besides web hosting, they also sell other great products at bargain base prices such as their dedicated servers.

Price and Cost Effectiveness

Startlogic’s UNIX web hosting starts at $7.50 with a one year prepayment which is consider lower than average. The average hosting price by consensus web hosting company usually starts at $7.50 per month. With them providing a free domain and free setup with only an annual prepayment, we couldn’t find better bargains elsewhere. Since they are relatively a new company, they are willing to offer lower prices to attract a larger base of customers in order to gain market share in the ultra competitive web hosting industry. Startlogic is one of the few web hosting companies offering Windows hosting, but at a much steeper price starting at $9.95 per year with 500 MB of space and 20 GB of traffic. On a positive note, they offer ASP. net support in their windows offering, which a lot of companies don’t. They also have Phpnuke preinstalled in their control panel to offer ease to customers who need Phpnuke installed without any knowledge of programming.

Reliability

Reliability in the web hosting industry is not something you see a lot now. Startlogic however is one of the few companies that offer reliable web hosting that meets up to their 99.9% uptime standards. However, only time will tell if they are able to maintain their high reputation. Startlogic is able to maintain its reputation for reliability with its data center located in Phoenix, AZ, which provides redundant optical fiber connections from Cox communications, Qwest, and ELI including Broadwing communications, UUNet and Global crossing. With so much redundancy, its no wonder that they are able to offer such high uptimes in their web hosting. In addition, their world-class data center is custom designed with raised floors, HVAC temperature control systems, redundant power, UPS back-up and power conditioning systems and generators.

Control Panel

Startlogic currently uses its own proprietary control panel, very much similar to Ipowerweb’s. Their control panel is very unique since they seem to have customized it themselves. Basically you can create websites, shopping carts, install scripts and even send and receive email all from the simple easy to use control panel. In addition, their control panel has one of the most intuitive interfaces we have seen in years. It is very easy to use and understand.

Overall

Startlogic is a great choice if you are seeking for a new web hosting company. Even though they are new, they seem to be light years ahead of many of the web hosting companies we had reviewed in customer service and control panel. Twenty four hour live support is a big plus that many companies do not offer today. If you are trying to seek for a web host that offers a lot of good stuff for a low cost, you do not need to look further. Startlogic is the answer.
